Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a well-known and beloved kitchen herb with a myriad of uses. It has been used since ancient times as a medicinal herb that supports the immune, respiratory, digestive, nervous, and other body systems.
What is lesser known of Thyme is that it is a powerful ally we can call upon in times when strength and courage are needed. When we are up against a situation that we may not feel we have the energy to face or that seems intimidating, thyme’s aroma can instill a sense of fearlessness in our minds.

If you happen to have thyme growing in your garden, or you buy the herb at the grocery store (it is easily found this time of year due to its use in many Thanksgiving dishes), you can create a bundle of it and place it under your pillow. This is also believed to aid sleep and ward off nightmares in addition to instilling bravery.
If you don’t have access to fresh thyme, you can easily find the essential oil and place it in a diffuser to scent your home. This is also a wonderful way to clean your house of any germs that may be brought in by friends and family during the holidays as it acts as an antibacterial for the air.
May you find the time to connect with thyme!
